He has worked in multiple hospitals in his lifetime and currently he is the chairman and executive director of Narayana Health. Before this, he was the senior cardiac surgeon at B M Birla Heart Research Center, Kolkata and Manipal Heart foundation from 1989-1996 and 1996-2001 respectively.
